Domain Name Registration

Once you know what you want your website address to be, how do you register it?

There are many places to go and register your domain name online - many companies that offer similar services. So how do you choose the right one?

Do you pay for what you get?

To a degree we would say yes you do. It's possible to register a .co.uk domain name for a couple of pounds - but then if you want to move it or change the hosting that you have, or make some alteration to the admin of it you may well get stung for much more than you initially paid.

As such our advice is make sure you read the small print first!

Our Registration Service

At Fibonacci Designs we will register your domain name for you, link it to the relevant hosting service you have, whether it be through us or another party, set up the appropriate administration details with Nominet (the Internet registry for .uk domain names) if the domain name is a .uk one, set up the appropriate email accounts associated with the domain and host and answer any questions that you may have.

For these services we charge £9.99 per year per .uk domain name which covers our time and means you don't have to think about doing it yourself.

Please note - if the domain name is .net, .com, .org or similar then the cost for registration will be £15.99 per year. This is due to a higher registration cost and more complex set up

Once we have set up your domain name for you, you can either have control panel access (to manage the domain name(s) yourself) or alternatively any changes that you request Fibonacci Designs to do for you will be charged at our standard hourly rate of £35 per hour.

How is the service renewed?

Once we have set up and registered a domain name name we will automatically renew the service and charge you accordingly on an annual basis. As a reminder we will contact you between a month and a fortnight before renewal is due so that it doesn't come out of the blue.
